When teachers share a belief that they and their colleagues can impact student achievement, they share a sense of collective teacher efficacy. What is the relationship then of teacher leadership to collective efficacy, the greatest factor impacting student achievement? (Hattie, 2016)

As leaders of others, participants in this workshop will consider the following:

  • What are the key attributes, knowledge and skills needed, and roles adopted by teacher leaders?
  • How can leaders strategically plan to enable conditions in building teacher leaders’ capabilities within a collaborative community of practice? Will this develop a culture focused on collective efficacy?
  • How can leaders empower teacher leaders’ voices and ownership in building high-quality professional learning teams and culture?
