Heidi’s diverse roles with the education industry has enabled her to embellish everything that is ‘Leadership’ over the last 10 years.
From Principal to Head of Department, Heidi has helped drive change in culture throughout her career and now embarks on expanding her leadership skills.

Principal, Helensvale State School

  • Lead school improvement with a focus on student outcomes through collaboration, culture and curriculum.
  • Contextualise systemic expectations to align HSS with Department of Education
  • Lead the implementation of the 14 Parameters of school improvement (Lyn Sharratt’s Clarity) at HSS and support South East Region schools in their implementation through developing and facilitating professional learning programs and mentoring school leaders.
  • A key member of an SER team to develop an Intentional Collaboration program for school leaders.

Deputy Principal (Junior Secondary), Helensvale State High School

  • Support the academic and social development of students in Years 7-9
  • Led the successful implementation of Professional Learning Teams and establishing HSHS as an accredited Professional Learning Community.
  • Lead the English, Maths, Science and Junior Secondary Heads of Department to focus on student improvement and intentional collaboration.
  • Implement a whole school Reading Framework and Numeracy Framework.
  • Collaborated with SER Flying Start team to pilot systems and process for the transition of Year 7 to secondary schools. Collaborate with partner primary schools to ensure a smooth learning transition for students.

2012

  • Developed a Differentiation Framework Prep-Year 12 for the college.
